The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) International Collegiate Design Series (CDS) competitions take students beyond textbook theory by enabling them to design, build, and test the performance of a real vehicle and then compete with other students from around the globe in exciting and intense competitions. All CDS competitions prepare engineering students in a variety of disciplines for future employment in engineering industries by challenging them with hands-on, team engineering experience that also requires budgeting, communication, project management, and resource management skills.
The UMKC Baja Racing Team, Roo Racing, is an entirely student-run team that competes every year in the Baja SAE series. The 2021-2022 season brings with it new rules, new members, and familiar competitions locations. Our first stop will be Tennessee Technical College located in Cookeville, Tn. followed by Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, Ny. While attending competition is very important to our team, this requires a large amount of money. We are so grateful for the money which we receive from our university, however, it is not sufficient to pay for building the buggy, travel, lodging and competition registration for 15 team members.
We are seeking your financial support to help further our Baja Team, giving us the opportunity to compete in our scheduled competitions this year. On behalf of the team, we would like to thank you for your time and concern for our success and especially your financial contribution.
