Our Crowdfunding Groups
Launch UMKC is an easy-to-use crowdfunding platform to collect donations, build cause awareness and connect socially. Groups and individuals affiliated with UMKC can create their own crowdfunding projects.
What is crowdfunding?
The practice of funding a project or venture by raising many small amounts of money from a large number of people, typically via the Internet.
How long does a campaign last?
A campaign is “live” for 30 - 45 days, but requires at least 3 months of work from start to finish — application to campaign completion — in order to be successful. Plus, you should spend time after the campaign to thank you donors and provide updates on the impact of their gifts.
Is there a fee to use the platform?
There are no fees or costs associated with Launch UMKC.
I just applied, what's next?
Please allow 7-10 days for you application to be reviewed. A UMKC Foundation staff member will then follow-up with the applicant.
Where is my donation going?
Your contribution will be processed through the University of Kansas City-Missouri Foundation and directed to the college, department, or program responsible for the project you choose.
Do you have a privacy policy?
Yes. It is the policy of The Curators of the University of Missouri that individually identifiable information obtained from internet credit card transactions will not be sold, traded or rented to third parties. Aggregate or summary information that does not contain personally identifying information may be shared, however.
When will my credit card be charged?
Your credit card will be charged immediately.
Is my donation tax deductible?
Yes. You will receive a receipt for your donation. If you select a contribution level that has a thank you gift, the cash value of the gift will be deducted from the total amount of the contribution.
