University of Missouri-Kansas City raises support from the entire Roo family. This 24-hour campaign is from midnight on March 11 to midnight on March 13. UMKC Giving Day is an exciting initiative to inspire you to support what you love most about UMKC. Let's come together and show how Roos can make a difference!
Why should I participate?
The University of Missouri-Kansas City faces significant budget challenges. To remain affordable, UMKC is committed to keeping its costs low and investing heavily in financial support for students, but we need your support. Gifts made through UMKC Giving Day help schools, colleges and programs support the transformative student experience, innovative research and community service.
How can I make a donation?
You can make your gift online at https://launch.umkc.edu/g/umkcgivingday. Gifts received by mail between March 11 and March 15 count toward UMKC Giving Day.
Where should I give?
There is no wrong place to give! Gifts to multiple designations are encouraged and accepted. If you do not see a particular fund listed, you may write in that fund in the “Other” option. For additional giving opportunities not shown on this site, visit https://umkcfoundation.org/ways-to-give/
How do I know if my employer will match my gift?
Matching gifts from your employer enhance your donation to the UMKC Foundation. To determine if your employer has a matching program, you can access our database on employers’ programs via our Online Giving Form.
Is my gift Tax Deductible?
Yes! Your donation to UMKC Giving Day is 100% tax-deductible. We will email a receipt for you to use for tax purposes.
I work for UMKC, can they just take my donation out of my paycheck?
Donations from faculty and staff in support of UMKC or specific programs are a valued reflection of your dedication to the university. You can make biweekly or monthly contributions through payroll reduction either indefinitely or toward a specific amount by completing and submitting the Authorization for Payroll Deduction Form.
What can I do to spread the word?
Your support will make UMKC's first ever giving day a success. Make sure to tell your friends about this fun and inspiring day for Roos to make a difference by posting about UMKC Giving Day, with the hashtag #UMKCGivingDay on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Linkedin.
Can I make a gift via stock, an estate gift or other planned gift?

Can I make my gift in recognition of a loved one or colleague?
Making a gift in recognition of a loved one or colleague is a lasting way to acknowledge and celebrate their life and accomplishments. Gifts can benefit the university in general or support a specific school or program that was significant to the honoree. You can complete and submit the Memorial and Tribute Form, the Memorial Tree and Bench Brochure or contact a gift director to discuss further options.
